So, last weekend Corey and I went on a little trip to Mildura. We stayed there two nights at the Grand Hotel and did lots of sight-seeing, visited wineries, went on a paddlesteamer cruise and generally just relaxed, which was great. We also went to a gem shop and Corey got me a lovely lapis lazuli necklace.

It was certainly hard going back to work again on the Tuesday! Work plods on much as ever and in between that and chores at home, I try to find time for my other stuff. I entered a short story competition a few weeks back so I'll find out if I was successful in September. I am also still working on my novel, my cross stitch, my languages, my photography (I want to save for a digital SLR), my music, my sketching....though sadly I don't have as much time for all these things as I would like!

Yesterday I went and saw the ballet "The Silver Rose", based on "Der Rosenkavalier" opera. That was good fun despite annoying coughing-talking person next to me.

While in town I also grabbed a couple of Tru Bloods. One I'll keep as a collector's item but I may drink the other and see what it's like. Also from "True Blood", I bought the replica Merlotte's t-shirt and apron that Sookie wears, so I may get a blonde wig and go dressed as her for Halloween this year!

We have no major plans for the rest of July but hopefully we'll catch up with some friends again during August and September.
